Polhem School is Gävle's largest upper secondary school with about 1500 students. At Polhem School, there are 10 national programs, one of which is preparatory for higher education and nine vocational programs. Polhem School has well-developed work teams and extensive quality work aimed at increasing students' goal achievement. The Electrical and Energy Program is a vocational program for young people training in electricity, automation, and data.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Make Gävle rich in competence! Do you want to contribute to students' motivation and learning? Great! We are looking for someone to complement our team in the Electrical and Energy Program with your knowledge and skills.

We are now seeking a vocational teacher for the Electrical and Energy Program who wants to educate students in electrical engineering. As a teacher in the Electrical and Energy Program, you will plan and conduct teaching both theoretically and practically in relevant vocational subjects. The work also includes close dialogue with the industry regarding internships and program councils. You are also expected to collaborate across subject boundaries and contribute to the development of our programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with upper secondary education in electricity and several years of professional experience in electrical installations. You have knowledge of digital tools and the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. A teaching license is desirable but not required.

To succeed as a vocational teacher at Polhem School, you must be able to lead, motivate, and inspire students, helping them to develop and feel good in school. You are good at creating open dialogue between students and your colleagues, and you adapt your actions based on different situations that may arise in school. Furthermore, you build trusting relationships and make others feel secure.

As a person, you have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized, are efficient, and use resources to achieve results in the best way possible. You also have an unpretentious approach in your collaboration with others and the ability to find alternative solutions to arising problems.

As a final candidate in the recruitment process, you are required to present an extract from the criminal record for work in schools or preschools.
